Another “Yasha” centre opened with support from Kapital Bank

With the support of Kapital Bank and together with “Regional Development” Public Association of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the opening of the Shamakhi district branch of the “Yasha” (“Live”) centre was held within the framework of the “Social Projects” competition. The centre, located at 1 Azadlig Street, Shamakhi city, was established by the public association “Üçüncü Bahar” (“Third Spring”).

The opening ceremony was attended by the head of the Shamakhi District Executive Power Tair Mammadov, deputies of Milli Majlis, Chairman of the Council of Elders of Shamakhi Mayil Alydzhanov, representatives of Kapital Bank, “Regional Development” Public Association, Social Services Agency and other guests.

The main objective of “Yasha” center is to organize appropriate activities to provide leisure for people of retirement age, ensure the active participation of elder people in the socio-economic, political and cultural life of the country, as well as provide opportunities for their education and employment. The center has rooms for computer classes, sports, dance, creativity, training, drawing, as well as a personal library.

It should be noted that “Yasha” center operates in Baku (Bakikhanov settlement, 1 Y. Aliyev St.) as well. More than 2000 people are currently active members of the center. Each time about 70–80 people take part in the events, which are devoted to various topics.
